FG Agrees To Meet ASUU Demands

The has agreed to meet the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ().

In a meeting congregated on Thursday, October 15 to end the seven-month strike declared by the union, the agreed to release N30bn earned academic allowance to the university lecturers in tranches between May 2021 and February 2022.

The FG also promised to spend N20 billion on the improvement of the educational sector in the country.

Despite this agreement, the meeting was inconclusive and was adjourned to October 21 by 3.00 p.m.

However, it is expected that gives their feedback and call of the strike soon.
