Naira Marley’s Court Case Resumes Tomorrow
Nigerian musician, Naira Marley is set to appear before the Lagos high court on Tuesday, October 22.
The Opotoyi crooner was arrested for alleged money laundering. Naira Marley, known for his single “Issa Goal”, was slammed with 11- count charges.
Naira Marley stands risk of spending 7 years in jail if found guilty in accordance with Section 33 (2) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
Justice Nicholas Onweibo had in May adjourned Naira Marley’s internet fraud case to October 22, 23 and 24 for accelerated hearing. He was granted a N2 million bail, with two sureties in a like sum.
The anti-graft agency arrested Naira Marley on May 10 and was subsequently filed 11-count charge of alleged credit card fraud against him on May 14 in a suit marked FHC/L/178C/19.
